i remember when i was in dainik jagran i was to find aspiring talent i came across a person who was simple like every woman she had talent but due to early marriage and socital pressure she could not pursue her love for gazals but as time passed she tried to pursue her first love
She told me that she was married at 16 she always lamented that she could not pursue her art Her inner urge to write forced her to break the shackels that tie the woman to house responsibility. she in 1996 gave shape to her first copy of gazals and in 1997 came her first gazals copy tilted 'suraj ki dahleez 'and got good critical acclaim and with the passage of time came her second gazal tilted'chiragan di daar' and it got good response she wrote for 'sirnava' magazine and rendered some lines' mein tan uljhi tand si resham tane di, ban jandi poshak kiwen hani di and she said' i got the inspiration to write this gazal from surjit pattars poetry 'hawa vich likhe harf' She was all praise for shiv kumar batalvi and surjit pattar
And what she said at that time that she wants to achieve more than this has been done by her bhasha vibhay best poestess award‘Patjhad Vich Pungarde Patte’ and ‘Kesar Di Chhitte’ (Edited), while another book, ‘Dhupp Di Chunni’,
as time passed the list of her achievements grew ;
Sukhwinder Amrit was conferred with the third and fourth Sukhbir Singh Tony memorial award, respectively,
Amrit continued with her formal studies and completed her M.A in Punjabi and is now pursuing her PhD. She now teaches literature at Government College for Men (Ludhiana) and leads a happy life with her husband and children.
